HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR CUTICLES WITHOUT CUTTING THEM

Cuticles?” I asked, you mean like the cuticles on my nails? What did they do to you? Some of us do not even pay attention to them. The cuticle is the thin layer of dead skin which is very close to what is called Eponychium. It overlaps the hard nail and touches the lunula.

Your cuticle plays an important role in the health of your nails. They protect your nail bed from harmful bacteria. Your nails become vulnerable to infection without this protective cover (cuticles). Your cuticles provide a protection for the nail matrix and grows new cells that build the nails. Cutting your cuticles can easily break the protective cover and leaving entrance for germs. So Ladies! Do not pick or cut your cuticles.

Simple steps to maintain beautiful and healthy nails

If you are wearing a nail polish, make sure you remove before you start the treatment

Condition your nails and cuticles. You can simply do this by using olive oil, coconut oil and vitamin e-oil or even balm. It does not necessarily have to be products specially made for cuticles. Dab the oil or bam on each cuticle and massage gently but not too much.

Soak the tips of your fingers in warm water. Soak your finger tips for 5 minutes. This will soften the cuticles and help prepare them to be easily pushed back without any pressure.

Gently push the cuticles back. After you have soaked your fingers, pat hands dry with a soft towel and use that towel to gently press down the cuticles or you can use a cuticle pusher or orange wood stick if you have one.

Moisturize your cuticles. Lastly, you can moisturize with the same product you used in step 1, so it is just like repeating step 1. But this time around, with less product and then massage into cuticles and nail beds.

Tip: If your cuticles are out of control, then you can get a cuticle remover to help tame them.
Squeeze a thin strip around cuticles and under nail tips. After 15 seconds gently push back cuticles with a cuticlee pusher or manicure stick. Wash away excess immediately and thoroughly with warm soapy water. To remove calluses, apply to callus for 1 minute.

If you intend to polish your nails after this treatment, just wait until all the oil has soaked in and nail beds are dry. This treatment lasts about 10 minutes! Enjoy your mini manicure!
